Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Hi! I have a Brooch that I'm getting ready to send off to auction, but want to know who the maker is first.....I cannot find out for Love Nor Money!!!! Can't post the whole item at the moment (will Later) but it's 18K with the initials clear BF as shown. It's a beautiful brooch that Mom gave me several years before she passed, but I don't wear it. Thank you in advance for any and ALL help!!!!!

HMMMM.....will have to look again with the super mags......never even thought of that........if by chance it was DT.....does that ring any bells??????? It's like part of a strawberry branch....with diamonds inside of I think a platinum leaf & flower & gold for seeds in the 4 strawberries....that kind of a brooch...(I had to go back and count!!)

EDIT: Nope.....I need to get you a better image....I believe it's definitely a distinctive "BF".......back in a bit.............

*NEW EDIT!!*: SORRY, I got sidetracked!! A couple more images.......At times I agree and think it's DT double stamped and at times I think it's a unique BF, or even PT as I think @tie.dye.cat suggested, (but I don't think for Platinum) so I just don't know! Either way, am not coming up with a maker.....with the Microscope though, I also see something else that ONLY shows up a couple of times in certain light......you'll see....inside the curve....not quite sure if they are letters, numbers or both.....SO, I STILL need help if you have any left to offer!!!! I am beside myself!!!! Thank you SO MUCH for at least trying!!!!!

Could it be "PT" for "Platinum" but doublestamped?

If you squint, it looks like BF, but I know nothing of jewelry hence I am of no help here whatsoever.:(

There is a good reason why it does not matter if it is is BF or OMG. and that is that it is so poorly stamped. Any maker good enough for the maker's name to make any difference would do a decent job of marking it.
Auction may not be a good plan. The costs may exceed whatever premium over scrap someone is prepared to pay.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Well, @afantiques, Mom Bought it at auction a good number of years ago, and I "THINK" she paid a goodly sum.....but what that sum was will remain a mystery as she was very good at NOT keeping the receipts for this type of thing.....for whatever reason......but I also will let them give me an estimate FIRST!!

*EDIT:* You WILL NOT believe this....I JUST went through my Mom's "little black book" that I edited down to things I still have, and have been through a gazillion times.....& did not see this specific item!!! Put out a call to St. Anthony, just in case....there on the VERY NEXT page....staring me in the face is where & when she bought it, a description and what she paid!!!! I have only been THAT startled ONE other time in my life with St. A!!!!!!!! But I have boundless faith in him!!!!! BETCHA want to know what I found!:smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin: (So I was completely WRONG about her buying it at auction!!) My Life would have been and would still be SO MUCH easier if she'd kept receipts!!!!!!!!! YEEEESH!

It may still go to auction, but it's still killing me who made it!!! It's supposed to be a copy of a very expensive and somewhat famous pin/brooch.....that's hearsay from Mom......IS it a double struck DT or BF......so here it is......HAHA.....been SO focused on the initials, forgot to take a pic of the whole pin!!!!! And, at least I now know it's NOT ALL that expensive.....big relief!!!

*EDIT*....I'm back.....reluctantly, as I HATE the thought of this stuff showing up on Pinterest.....the one other time I posted something "NICE" in GENERAL DISCUSSION (where it WOULDN'T show up on Pinterest).....and SOMEBODY MOVED IT TO HERE!!!! It's 3 1/8" "stem to strawberry".....

@Bev aka thelmasstuff, a question specifically for you......or even @anundverkaufen (you're the only two I know are on Cape!).....have you ever heard of an antiques shop ON the Cape.....back in the 90s by the name of "Janes Collectiques"???? Testing your memories.....that's when & where (I think) Mom bought this......and thank you very much!!!!!

Thank you, Pearls!! But I think better to let it go and let someone else enjoy it, although I HAVE had the pleasure of owning it!!!!:)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It is beautiful, @Aquitaine -- Did the paper you found lead to any enlightenment as to what the initials might be?

Not really @Figtree3 ....Mom's note in the booklet just identified it as "BF"....which as you know is highly questionable.....even I agree that it is!!!!
