Oil Painting Signed - but what is it painted on? and sig help please.

    What the heck is this painted on? whatever it is is stapled to the paper backing. It is signed but I cannot decipher it. painting.jpg painting1.jpg painting2.jpg painting3.jpg

    Hi. Looks like woven horsehair. Somewhat labor intensive. Had a couple long ago but mine were not framed. Your frame looks to have a south of the border theme to the front.
