Oil Painting Help

Hi,
I picked this up and trying to find out more about it.
It is on canvas, 16" x 9". Some of the edge is attached to the frame. There are no brush strokes, just blobs (for lack of a better word) of paint that have been applied. So maybe this is a print on canvas with paint on top?
Any information appreciated.

No reason to think it is anything but an oil on canvas. Any signature? I get a feeling that this is from some exotic location but can't pin it down. Africa comes to mind, as does Philippines or other Southeast Asia location.

 

Thank-you brad! I thought Africa when I saw this. I can't see a signature and am a little hesitant to take it apart. From what I can see along the bottom edge where I would think a signature would be, there isn't much canvas there.

 

Looks like Latin America to me but could be lots of other places. And lots of different flame trees but this looks like a Royal Poinciana.

It is MEMORABLE. That goes a long way with me. Sometimes, even immense skill/talent doesn't produce a memorable vision. This does. I like.

 

I took one look and wanted to say East Africa somewhere. Kenya probably. They have plenty of mountains in Kenya and have trees that shape, if not that color.
