    G ROY.jpg Hello,
We have an oil painting 30x38 signed "G.Roy" (see photo in attachment)
Could it be by Jules Gustave Le ROY, animal painter (1851-1921, 19th-20th century)?

I have no idea of the estimate for such a painting ?

    Thank you for your help!

Can you please post a close up photo of the signature and the back? Please include the size and where you got it (Country or State)

At a glance, I would think yours was a Chinese factory painting and "after" Le Roy in which case the value would be decorative. As above, additional photographs would be helpful.

Looks as if this painting by Knipp was used as a reference.

Hmm, I’ve got a couple of small G. Roy Paintings somewhere. I’ll dig them out. One is a horse and the other some chickens. Possibly I have shown them on here before.
    I may be some time........

Thank you for the additional photographs. I continue to believe yours is a decorative painting produced recently by a Chinese factory. There are many giveaways. An important one is how flat and lifeless it appears when compared with a genuine period painting.

That plywood panel is also a dead giveaway.....

Well, yes, and then there's that. (So much for my analysis of artistic execution!)

Comparing the two cat & globe paintings, it really is apparent how much more depth the one has compared to the other.

Yes, and one can see why from this detail here, for instance. See how sketchily (and hurried) a manner in which it's painted?
