    I never thought I'd see a piece outside of the Antiques Roadshow but there it sat in a dollar box. Not a dollar each - a dollar for the whole box. Most of the rest was junk except another piece marked Made in Belgium. As some in the trade say, I couldn't hustle it out of there fast enough. Haven't had time to look up the decorator's name yet but for a buck who cared??? I think the flowers are crocuses.

    I am assuming this will not be going anywhere at least for the foreseeable future. ;) :D:D:D

    I have always said that if I ever bought a piece of pottery with the intention of keeping it for myself it would be a piece of Newcombe College or Rookwood. :happy:

    Congrats on the find!! :woot::woot::woot:

    FYI - It's Newcomb with a b and no e. ;)

    And you are one lucky duck with that! I agree the flowers look like croci.

    Thanks. My brain kept wanting the E at the end of the name, and now I don't have to look all that up.

    No idea what it's worth. Find of the Summer ... and I wasn't the first person into the building either. They opened at 9 and I didn't get there until 9:30 at least. How the HECK it and all the silver were still there I haven't a clue.

    Maybe payback for telling some young folks looking at champagne flutes to "buy that". It was Waterford - told 'em where to look for the marks and that those stems are like $50 each. The whole box was $5.

    That's about what I hoped.(LOL) The $50 pricetag was for Waterford.

    Nice find evey

    Don't know if this is an ignorant question or not :nailbiting:

    But are there a significant amount of revered american potters out there, compared to other countries

    Just out of interest

    Never seem to hear of many apart from the few

    My guestimate is 15k to 20k at a good auction house like Ragos, this one on eBay sold for 11k and it was only 6" tall, Joseph Meyer seems to go for good $$$
