    But just on the off chance: anyone recognise the mark on this massive teapot? Looks sort of Japanese ish, and it's granite clay.

    OMG, that is a complicated, messy mark!
    I've been looking at alot of Japanese and Chinese marks lately. I've seen that symbol that looks like an up-side-down 'Y' inside of a 'U' over and over again in all my scrolling. I think it's Japanese.

    I've seen it so many times, so I'm pretty sure the mark should be oriented this way, if in fact it is truly Japanese.
