OK - I didn't want to hijack the light bulb thread that "some" said was JUST light bulbs. I guess JUST light bulbs if you have no imagination.

My Dad (rest his soul) made this when I was a kid (1970) and I've always kept this.

OOOOH, Rayo, THAT is SOO Cool!!!! That took some forethought to have it fit so tightly!!! And completely off the cuff, but is it TRUE that Ducks quacks don't Echo????? If so, do you know why????

it was found that the echo was 'swallowed' by the original quack, due to the very similar acoustic structure between the quack and the echo. Because of this, it may be difficult to tell where the quack ends and the echo begins."

AND I bet you never knew only the females QUACK! males kinda have a deep sounding chirp.

Really nice, Rayo, and such a nice memory of your Dad. I have always admired the patience that goes into making these.
I tagged you in the other thread, lightbulbs are not 'just' lightbulbs to me either.:rage::playful:

For some reason I felt like writing to you after all these years... - "this is mega cool!!!" I don't know who could say it's "just a light bulb", it's a masterpiece. I've seen this kind of thing in bottles, but I can't even imagine that it's possible to do this kind of work inside a lamp. A kind of stylized scaled-down replica of a big ship. There is a reflection of the lamps in the photo, and I was very puzzled by it. I wondered if there was lighting in the lamp... which is logical, but, no... Oh, not for nothing I bought now I have a bunch of old incandescent tungsten bulbs I can use for creativity
