I betcha no one has ever mixed mashed two American writers with German porcelain!

    Anyway, enough of that!

Picked up this pair of porcelain figurines at the auction the other night. The bidding was tough! I had to bid all the way to $10 (for both) before I scared off the other bidders.

Do you think these are real Meissen? The quality is superb and they are very heavy.

You are seriously making me want to by porcelain figurines now ! Those are exquisite. Id say the quality looks right to be Meissen.Notice how you can see the skin tones through the diaphanous gown of the one warming her hands .Lovely ,absolutely lovely.

Is the bottom glazed? Is the mark under glaze?

2 of the 4 elements... water and fire?

I think they are nicely modeled, but I would expect Meissen to have a glazed bottom and the mark under glaze, but I don't know enough to be certain about that.

They are nice, especially for what you paid, but Im very doubtful. Looking at the belt and decoration on shoulder cloak, looks too sloppy, don't like the mark either, doesn't look right at all unglazed like that

For $10 they are very nice and you should do well I’d expect. Real idk but I find others comments compelling.

    "
Of MEISSEN and Men Or....For Whom The MEISSEN Tolls" best title ever! :hilarious:

I do think these are very nicely done, even the toenails have been attended to with a blush color.

The marks look slap dashed out onto the bottoms, neither of which appears to have wear marks. These girls appear to be overly clean. The clear glaze over the paint looks "too shiny" and "not right" for an older glaze, and I doubt a pink colored blush would have been used to accentuate the breast area on the one I can see and the other has more nicely formed bewbies than I'd expect too. I doubt these are old, but certainly worth every penny you paid! :shame:

both women have a very sensual quality about them.
pose, clothes, bare shoulders and legs....
I'd say the artist was very aware of what he was doing...! ;)
