odd yellow ware face jug

    hi folks

    found one of these on ebay for cheap, but havent bought it yet, as there are 2 differing ones for sale at widely different prices

    i really like it and thinks its like early 19th, but the etsy one states 1970s ? i can see why they would suggest that as there were types like this made in that period

    does seem to have a mold line

    any thoughts appreciated

    anyone else notice the ebay picture viewing has changed, you cant seem to be able to click into a separate gallery anymore ?

    only seems applicable to uk ebay

    interesting, thats helpful in itself, thanks Deb. Wonder which is right in age, that seems to suggest it is early 19th though still

    The one from the Ebay link isn't a jug ;) Rarer and therefore more expensive?

    I think the ebay price is higher because it's ebay and not etsy, and more importantly it's a bank rather than a pitcher. I'm thinking more early 20th c than 19th, but I stand to be corrected on that.

    I think a bit too early to be Buster Brown, who was created in 1902, and he was an American character

    Just an fyi, the sellers don't know that those characters are Max and Moritz. :smuggrin:
