odd yellow ware face jug

hi folks

found one of these on ebay for cheap, but havent bought it yet, as there are 2 differing ones for sale at widely different prices

i really like it and thinks its like early 19th, but the etsy one states 1970s ? i can see why they would suggest that as there were types like this made in that period

does seem to have a mold line

any thoughts appreciated

The eBay seller is incorrect; this is a male figure. Buster Brown perhaps.

its quite a cool looking thing and has good age, so thats enough for me

 

The one from the Ebay link isn't a jug Rarer and therefore more expensive?

 

I think the ebay price is higher because it's ebay and not etsy, and more importantly it's a bank rather than a pitcher. I'm thinking more early 20th c than 19th, but I stand to be corrected on that.

 

I think a bit too early to be Buster Brown, who was created in 1902, and he was an American character
