I'm hoping for some insight on this odd little necklace. So - why do I say odd? It's very short. The clasp is unusual - a bit homespun. The beads are not really uniform and while they initially look shiny, the surfaces do have a bit of texture here and there. They don't feel like stone or glass - maybe ceramic or jet?

Many thanks for your time having a look and a mull.

A close cousin of wire wrapped jewellery, a home craft activity, or was. Checking eBay, I see India has gotten into it in a big way, more elaborate than most home grown products, but this necklace clearly not industrial level.

Beads could be ceramic; not likely to be jet. In what way do they not feel like glass?

I'd call homebrew on this too, or close to it. I've found similar, done with real sterling , and glass bead spacers. The OP's looks to be gold-filled, if it's goldtone, and ceramic.
