Odd leather straps for ID please

Local auctioneer has a TON of these from a house clearance and wonders what they are. Clearly British military with that broad arrow - about 36 inches long and leather. I'd have expected webbing if they were for equipment, but hey. The person they came from was a bit of a horse nut if that helps.

 

Look kind of like English stirrup leathers except for the loops but those on my adult size saddle are longer (and narrower) . A kid's saddle uses shorter leathers. I have no idea what British military saddles might be like though.

They are speaking in Limese there however, using big, difficult words like "autojumble."

 

Are they all white? Doesn't that suggest some parade dress use. Or winter?

 

They're not white enough or fine enough for parade use - they're greyish, and not polishable. I've seen parade stuff and it's REALLY high quality.

Spring, yes, I found that link. MTI also did horsey stuff as well, they dealt with ttransport, full stop. (Thank you, by the way!)

davey, I wondered about strapping stuff down, but why so many, so inflexible, and why not a fixing each end?

 

I'm sure the folks on the linked site will know -just register, wait, and post the question with pic.
