Odd Cutting Tool

Probably obvious to someone. Wood handle, brass tapered end with a cutting edge that swings out. Any ideas on use? Only mark is a small B in a circle.

Gardening tool? When closed it looks like a dibble. The blade could be used in place of secateurs. Strictly a guess.

 

Could be a reamer, and also a trimmer, probably for wood originally though it could be used for other soft-ish things such as plastic.
Even if I'm off if I came across it I'd buy this for my toolbox(es) for those uses.

Definitely looks more like other tools identified as being for sail making than ones for mending nets.

Turns out that this is a Cork Borer Sharpener, nothing to do with sail making.
