No idea what this is -- thoughts?

the cupped open bottom reminds me of a wasp trap; they come in various forms of art glass and either hang or have feet/toes...

I'd call it a hangs-around collects-dust m'self. No idea what else you'd use it for.

It's a mystery piece, a dust collector for sure. Not a wasp trap, it doesn't have the reverse funnel bottom, but a good suggestion.

Someone would have made the applied pieces on a carbon rod -- just no idea. Maybe it is an odd paperweight.

Sits very evenly, even shows a tiny bit of wear on the bottom.

Something just occurs to me -- don't they have those LED changing lights on some glass pieces, maybe something like that was meant to go inside?

No idea what it is, but oddly enough, I sort of want it, especially now that you bring up those fascinating color-changing lights. It's one of those things that, depending on price, my ex would say, "well, it's worth that much just for the coolness factor" (though in all honesty, his taste can be a bit iffy - except in women, of course).

It might be missing a piece of felt off the bottom - artisan paperweight?

If it has any glue on the bottom, it might have been a paperweight. Or a night light.
