I collect Nutcrackers. This one is new and inexpensive. I'm almost afraid to say I collect them because there is hardly anything I don't collect. I don't know what I'll do if I ever have to move to a smaller house.

OMGosh....you sound like me! I love everything too. My house is small.....and I have gotten to the point where I do think TWICE before saying I have to keep it!!:)

Oh, Bev... Why cont you just say you dont like it? Who asked wether it is expensive or not. Not me. How do you determine the age? Can you show me the photo of the same that has certainly been made yesterday.?
I couldnt find exactly the same online.
    Thanks

Remember , when you post an item here for others to see and comment on....you must be ready to accept all comments whether you like them or not.

My search leads me to believe that this one is below average quality...& not that old.

    Thank you komokwa!
Call me foolish, but I need people to explain to me their opinion on any matter.

I didn't mean to offend you. I thought you wanted an honest opinion on value. I have similar ones, so it's not a matter of liking or not liking. I paid very little for mine. If they weren't packed away, I'd take photos.

Ok. Found some Christmas photos. Here's a batch. The most expensive one was about $39.95 - the sea captain on the left end. The others were in the $20 range.

I am not offended by an opinion.... just would like to know the criteria

Well, my criteria is my collection. Yours has very little detail and looks modern. Maybe in person it would look older, but my experience is the older ones are more detailed and have finer quality features.

To be completely honest, as I am newby to this vintage stuff game, I didnt know what I got until I brought it home today and checked online. Nutcracker, although I know what it is, wasnt in my mind today when I got this figurine. I got it as a gift because I asked about it after I purchased several items from this married couple at the flea market.
For me this is a learning proccess...

It is not easy to appreciate art without thinking about the green bottom line...

Always look for quality construction, whether new or old.

but after looking through hundreds of Red Soldier Nut Crackers....to find one similar to yours so that I can prove to you that it's of low quality and recently made .........

I think I've gone either Nuts or Crackers .........or both !
