Not sure what this is or where it should go

    Metal plate on wood, 4.5 ounces.

    That's a printing block. Probably for a newspaper ad.

    Yep. If you have a stamp ink pad, you can ink it and press a piece of paper down ont it and see the image right side around. (clean the ink off afterward) I think it's a camera.

    I thought it might be! Definitely didn’t look or feel like something for home use.

    To reiterate, a print block, it's considered 'typehigh' used in letterpress printing. The early ones were of copper which yours appears to be.
