NOT SILVER - OLD LOCAL MATCH STRIKE

Hi all!! While rummaging in my BIL's tool chest on Block Island, I came across this old Match Strike of his or his father's......it's been banged around quite a bit, and NO, it's NOT silver! Just thought it might be interesting with the advertising on it!! Don't suspect it has much of any value in its condition, and he doesn't know I took pictures of it either ....I like to do that to him now and then.....sometimes what I find has value, we sell it and he gets blown away, but I imagine not in this case.....just local interesting history, since he and his 3 brothers were born & raised in Worcester, MA!!!!! If you have any opinions, I'd be glad to hear them!!! Thanks in advance!!!!

 

Probably worth 30-40 in that condition. Looks like it might clean up some.

edit: For the sake of thread lifespan, the ebay listing was in better condition and sold for $110 USD.

 

HEIDELBRÄU with the Heidelberg castle. wonderful. I'm sure there are German collectors for it.

 

Good find, @sabre123 -- That price seems higher than I would have expected. @Aquitaine , maybe you should try selling it!

 

Condition is really not all that bad and I am sure it will clean up quite a bit. You might be surprised what brewery memorabilia collectors would pay for it.

 

HAHA, @Figtree3, BIL just found out I took the pics and told him the estimated potential price......no reaction, so I assume he'll be keeping it.....DH and his brothers RARELY part with ANYTHING.....I imagine they'll be having a trailer at the cemetery when they pass!!! BUT, I liked it, anyway!!!!!
