Not exactly an antique, older.... Mystery Item???

I used to go digging up old bottles on a Victorian rubbish dump and one day I found this, it's a flint that has been cut in half and polished, inside you can see a fossil of a large millipede... I think. I took it to a fossil shop but they weren't any help, saying they hadn't seen anything like it, I'm not sure if it's rare or just he didn't know, it was only a local shop. I just wondered if anybody knew about it?

 

I'm a rockhound and I've never seen a fossil exactly like this, I don't think it's a millipede; more likely some type of coral.
Is that a little piece of shell I see next to it?

 

I'm assuming they are legs, every 4th one has a larger padded foot, the flint is quite transparent, I'll try and get a better photo

 

It is possibly a "pseudo fossil",there are many rocks with what appear to be landscape scenes,etc.

Possibly; after looking a bit more I'm even more convinced that this is not a insect.
