Not Cloisonné, but Ginbari; the Dragon Looks Chinese

The bowl is 7" by 2 1/8"; the foot rim is 2 1/4". It weighs ~280 grams. Aside from the glazing, I believe it is all metal; a brass foundation with the patterned silver-foil Ginbari inside an' out, beneath a clear glaze that is over all the artwork.
I believe the Dragon is Chinese because all of her feet show only 2 claws each. But I'll confess to being less than intimately familiar with the myriad peculiarities of Dragons: I don't play D&D; it's my only excuse, weak though it may be.
The piece seems very contemporary, partly due to a complete lack of wear, an partly due to the copious use of the Ginbari foil; but I honestly have no clue about dating it otherwise, or assigning a nation of origin. The sea-wave theme on the exterior is strongly reminiscent of Hokusai's Great Wave off Kanagawa; the Dragon inside is far better executed than I would expect on a modern copy of an earlier piece. I admit considerable confusion about it; Please offer whatever illumination you can...an' thanks for lookin'!

Love that - we usually see the vases in our area but not bowls.

Can't comment as to date, but can say I would have grabbed this too. The dragon is really well done and love the over all look.
