This mystery box came in a lot, which I bid on because included was an Indian sitar-shaped paan (betel) box.

This box is small, has two compartments with two separate hinged lids and a partition in the centre, under the finial. It is base metal.
The seller thought it was also Indian, but it looks North African Amazigh/Berber to me.

I found a similar box on a North African site, no ID, and of course I can't find it now.
But I am sure one of you wonderful people can find one, along with a convincing ID.;)

    Thank you for looking.:)

Below is one of my Moroccan Amazigh kohl bottles for comparison. The decoration on the box reminds me of that on the bottle, similar scrollwork and stippling:

The green part of the world is betel country, south and southeast Asia.
Morocco is on the northwest coast of Africa, south of Spain and Portugal.
