The stamp on the base I understand was introduced in 1908 and the “made in Japan” apparently indicates it’s post WW1. So do I assume 1920s or is it much later? Measures 15cm tall. Many thanks for your advice.

20s or later makes sense to me.

Between the wars. Most likely 30s or 40s.
    IMHO

It does look like these marks

However and I am not sure about the annotation below because it does not expressly refer to these marks above but to other similar marks which have this annotation attached. So I guess anywhere from 1908......but stopping at 1941 regardless but as i have said it does not styate when these specific marks ended. I also checked Joan van Pattens encylopedia of Noritake but did not find this design.

When they stopped using that mark i am not sure, the design would be aesthetic i think. However, it does strike me as 1920's - 1930's but i cannot support that with any facts, it just appears a more technically advanced product from noritake product line. They did modernise their production as the years advanced. It cannot be older then 1941 and is not art deco. So i would also guess 1920.

Here are a pair of french aesthetic movment vases late 19th century

Japan did produce Aesthetic style porcelain in the 1920's. It is definetly a Noritake vase. While the backmark is from the united Kingdom registry, the design has a slightly South Californian 1920's style.

I'm not seeing the painting on this vase as 20s. Just sayin.

And the subject isn't "Aesthetic style" either. Not in the USA anyway.

Thanks all, very helpful. Yes agree the decor seems a bit later than 20s (if it was German pottery I’d be saying 1950s) but the gilded rim, base and handles seem earlier. Digging further into the mark indicates it was used only up until 1939. Might be as close as I’m going to get for now.

Many thanks @Francisco G Kempton this is very useful. There was a section on the link (background to backstamps) that clarified this mark known to be used until 1939.
