Featured Nice little grape shears. Where from?

These are really nice little shears. Not mine but I’m curious. The marks don’t ring a bell. I’d guess Italian? I don’t have a better photo of the small mark near .800 and I’m guessing the best mark clue is probably there. Opinions?

 

They look German to me, and I've seen those marks before.

German would have been my second guess but the marks although I have no idea what they represent didn’t look particularly German to me for some reason.

 

I saw those. I thought the detail was nicer on the pair I posted but maybe they are just worn as you mentioned. Also obv lacking the marks and they are 5g or so lighter.

Edit: not sure where the MS star on shield comes in but the other mark with what looks like little hearts is seen in their bevy of pseudos.

 

The only thing I can say is that "the other mark with what looks like little hearts" is not exclusive to Neresheimer.'

Yes, I was thinking the marks/details were polished/worn away from the time of use. Hence the lighter weight.

 

I think yours and the one from Ebay are made by different manufacturers. There are many changes in the minor details of the design. The beard on yours has a lovely double point and is fully visible while the beard on the Ebay shears is partially obscured. The hat design and the angle of the hat on the head are different between the two shears. The boots on your guy have scrolls at the top, while the Ebay one doesn't. I like the detail on your shears much better!

Looks to me like a rooster with a really big eye.

 

Pretty sure that qualifies as dirty slang somewhere.

 

Didn't know they made grape scissors.

 

Grapes love to make paper chains, and they need scissors their size.
