Newbie :)

    Hi all! I'm a 20 year old horse rider living in France. I've always loved old things and I would like to get into antiques, however I know very little so I think I'll be quite the frequent visitor. I've had some success at my first shop but while I found a little information I'm quickly finding that google is not an exhaustive resource! I'm interested in anything that catches my eye, but currently I lean more towards pottery and ceramics as that was what is most common on antiques road show and so I feel a little more versed in that area. I have a side obsession with very old books. I also have the bad habit of preferring decrepit, 'distressed' condition items over nice ones as they seem more true to their age. Excited to be here!

    Welcome to the forums! I believe that many collectors prefer items that show their age as long as the overall condition isn't too bad and there are not any major flaws.
