Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

O.K., my favorite experts, as previously mentioned before, I once again need help with an artist's signature.....don't think my parent's ever tried to research these.....of course I don't think the internet was alive and kicking then either! The painting is 21.5" x 35.5" in the frame.....the frame itself is approx 3.5" in width. The signature is down to the left in the dark green (of course!!)....had to tweak the pic to take out the pinkish tinge my camera left....the sun had just gone down. Also 3 settings of adjustments on the signature.....the top image of the sig is the original......H....E....L....P....????? Also, in the signature images....if you look up towards the right, I see what looks like a couple of weak initials and what looks like a date....could be 1876???? Not sure......Thank you again......would like to get a couple of these names before I go paying AskART, IF I can!!
A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO STOP BY!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D
    Edit: I know.....there's still pink tinge:shifty:

Last name Holder? Date might be 1849, but not at all certain about the 4.

I love that painting. The white cow is wonderful. Look at her hooves. Heh heh- and the way she's standing.

Thanks! I love the painting too! I will say Mom usually had great taste on what she bought! I say 'usually' because she got to know an enamelist painter in NYC, Max Karp, ..... she loved his works so much she bought about 26!!! of his 24 x 30 enamel on coppers ..... mostly CLOWNS!!!-all framed!! My 2 brothers and I had to divvy them up so no one of us was too overwhelmed!!!!! I have a couple more than the others.....OIIII!!!!!!!!:wacky::wacky::wacky::eek:

BTW....the sun had just gone down, so had to tweak most of
them and there is reflection off the enamel......Personally, I think
I got the better of the lot :smug:

Thanks!!! I know a lot of people think clowns are 'spooky', but I personally don't think these are. And Max sold them to my parents IN the frames!

Wonderful enamels. 30" by 20" each? They'd fill a wall! Love the frames as well.

Oh my goodness, the fifth painting from the top looks like Emmett Kelly in his "Willie" clown make-up and costume. My Daddy loved the circus and his favorite clown of all time was Emmett Kelly. Daddy had a couple of books about the circus which included Emmett Kelly (of course).

Thank you all!!! Roughly 24" x 30" each..... AND There-in lies our problem!!!! We are OUT of wall space!!!!! We DO NOT have a big house by ANY MEANS and I believe the nieces and nephews aren't really interested in them!!! Also, yes, Max did a couple (at least that we have) of Emmet Kelly likenesses......and it doesn't show in the pictures, but a couple of the frames are 'flaking' ......not sure how to deal with them, but I am digressing away from my oil painting of the cows!!! You DID SAY "SEND IN THE CLOWNS", Moreotherstuff :smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin:

Wow - those clowns are the s****! "Piano Emmett," priceless!

Going on what Bakersgma and cxgirl put out - bc I can't see it! - here's signtures on H E Hobson (- 1866) He did paint pastorals, but seem to be more of a combination of women, springs, streams and wells in a more romantic style...

Anyone remember Wally from the very olden days on Ebay? He left and went to Bonanza. He collected clown figurines.
