Bought this watercolor here in Central IL this week. I can't make much of the signature. It was framed locally so could be a local artist. However, we get a lot of artists of note who pass through because of the university. Based on framing, I would guess this dates to the 70s or 80s.

First signature is as seen, second is enlarged. Third is enlarged and enhanced. Any help/ideas are appreciated.

I like Lowe but trying to see something different. How about Glover? E.Glover? Google brought up a painting by Ethel Glover that's in the same sort of style.

Thanks. That is more than what I was getting and both responses makes sense. I didn't find anything searching Howe or Lowe. Off to look at Glover now. This is nicely sealed but I may need to open it up to see if there are any further clues.

OK .... Opened this up and there are no further clues. However, looking at the signature without the glass, I believe the tail seen on the second letter is a less deliberate stroke. Consequently, I am thinking the signature could be E. Oliver ( or E. Olive). I have looked at all possiblities proposed so far and am not able to attribute this.

Edit: Also looked at E. Oliner / Oline ..... :(
