    Hello All, Sorry the photos are in the wrong order. I'll figure it out eventually. I bought this at a garage sale. I was told 1920's Hopi pottery. It is 6" wide and 5.5" tall including the lid. Also, is it called a jar with lid? or pot? Thank you!

    Sorry, in no way Hopi. This is vintage Hopi pottery:

    Yours is made on a pottery wheel, which Hopi potters do not use. Yours is glazed, while Hopi vessels are decorated with clay slip. Yours is fired at a higher temperature as well. Someone incorporated generic "Indian" symbols in the decoration, but otherwise nothing Native American about it.

    And the gritty, dull outer texture is wrong.
