Can we see the insides of the drawers? I'm not seeing a lot of age on this, no drawer locks for one thing, but the real story may be written elsewhere.

    Your chest is veneered wood.
    Not sure what type.

I would date it to the 1940s.

I'm going to ask @daveydempsey to put this in the Furniture forum.

    Oh and I forgot.

Hi and WELCOME to Antiquers, @Rob95!! You already have one good answer on your chest on chest, but will add another tag, @verybrad, who will most likely confirm what's been said. Nice looking chest!!

If American, would place it to the 20s-30s. Suppose it could be 40s but most of those applied curlicue carvings were done by then. The carved bulbous feet also make me think the earlier date. If English, could be later. It is of book matched walnut veneers. Also sometimes called butterfly matched.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It appears to be in very good condition. I've learned from this forum that brown wood furniture doesn't usually sell for much these days, unfortunately.

I thought 30s as well, then thought it had a pre French Provincial look, that's why I said 40s.
