Hello everyone - I'm trying to figure out what I've got here. The mark is a bit of a mess but I think it's the Allertons mark from 1903-1912. I would appreciate it if anyone could confirm that information. Also if anyone knows the pattern or if there is a particular use for this size bowl that information would also be most helpful. The bowl stands about 2 3/4" tall and 5 7/8" across the opening. It reminds me of a rice bowl. Thanks in advance!

Don, i haven't found this pattern yet. I also think it is one of Charles Allerton's backstamp. It looks like the one on this "Delhi" pattern:

Godden's Ency. of British Pottery ..... Marks, p. 30, has several of Charles Allerton's backstamps. Fig 86-8 c is this crown topped banner with England under it. It is dated 1903-12.

Is it my imagination or does the broken line of all caps below the banner and smudged part look like CHINESE?

What about that star fracture on the bottom? I've found those to be deadly to value.

The star fracture only shows on the bottom - it doesn't go through. Thanks for the help everyone!
