I put this over on the ebay PGP, but I'm not getting an responses so I thought I would post here. I have a really pretty opalescent vase that I bought but I have no clue as to who made it. Also, I have a rather generic blue bowl with a very nice color that I also need to ID. First, the vase is 9 3/4" high and 3 5/8" diameter at the base.

The blue bowl measures 10" in diameter and 3 1/4" high. I feel like I should know this one. Thanks for your help!

Yes, of course. The blue bowl is...um...it's right at the edge of my brain...the bottom...ummmm....

Is the opalescent rib vase really that tangerine color? or is it a trick of the lighting?

Silver, it's on the edge of my brain too. Frustrating . . .

Pat, the opalescent vase is really that color. The auctioneer called it Orange. In the photos the bottom of the vase looks white, but when I hold it to a bright window (and they're all bright right now with the snow glaring in), the bottom portion looks like a very, very light shade or orange as well.

    Hi,
The blue bowl is giving me a Heisey vibe. Begins with an R

Greg, If you're thinking of Heisey Ridgeleigh, that isn't it. The bottom is not ground and polished, so not Heisey, plus I don't think Heisey ever made this color. Since the base isn't finished, I looked in my 40s50s60s glass book but couldn't find it. The star base kind of reminds me of Westmoreland, but not. More recent Fostoria?? They didn't finish a lot of items in their late years and they made this color. Maybe it's not a branded bowl?

    Hi Pam,
Thanks It was Ridgeleigh I was thinking of but the bottom was throwing me for a loop.

the bowl appears to be Imperial Glass #682 Pillar Flute; the 10" flared bowl like this is called a berry and also a salad bowl in the catalog.

Thank you, Don! I would never have come up with Imperial. I thought most of their wares were signed. But now that you pointed it out, it is just like the Pillar Flute carnival pieces I've seen. And looking around the net, I found several examples of this pattern in blue. I had no idea!

Any ideas on the opalescent vase? I'll even take educated guesses on where it likely made? Thanks!

The Opalescent Art Glass Vase is probably English. Not worth a whole lot.

Thanks, fenton! It's mute now. I listed it last night and it already sold and is out the door.
