hi everyone. i've been trying to identify this little piece for the last couple of weeks and keep coming up goose eggs. part of the problem is the artist mark impression is a little soft or faint. i'm hoping someone out there recognizes it. this piece is well thrown and stands about 4 inches in height. Also, the primary color is pink and there are several words impressed into the clay along the base. i've gone back and forth that the mark is a butterfly or some sort of winged creature versus two distinct letters. i fully realize this might be a wild goose chase. any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

i've had similar pieces stylistically that have sold for very good money. but, i am aware this might be something made by some local artist 20 years ago and not worth anything.

What does it read around the base?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

It looks like only part of what's stamped on is showing....so far....and that mark looks kind of like a bird with wings spread.......and that first letter looks more (to ME!) like an 'X' than a 'Y' ...........might be easier if @Jim Goodykoontz READ what it all says!!!

I read 'TALL GRASS' on the top bit, can't read the other parts though.

Mark looks like a dragonfly mark to me. Whatever that may be.
Seems like a different vibe than the other stuff Tall Grass is making.

hi, sorry about being so slow to respond. i've been swamped. the words around the base appear to be for along the lines of a haiku or poetic. they are "DREAMS" "MOONLIGHT" "TALL GRASS" and "RED SOIL". there's also something stamped along the top rim, but it's covered with glaze and i can't be certain what it's saying, but i think it's along this vain.

let me say, too, i've spent a lot of time on the Marks Project website and did find one artist mark that was somewhat similar. but it wasn't exactly the same. his name was Fred Ellis. anyway, thank you all for looking.
