    Recently acquired a ring. It bears 18ct (see photos attached), EB (jeweler's hallmark), and the year hallmark is very similar to London hallmark 1602-3.
    However the design of the ring doesn't look that old... What do you think?

    If you have any suggestions please let me know.

    (new to the forum, this is my first post...thanks!!)

    Bracelet does not look worn enough to be as old as the date letter (if that is really what it is meant to be) would imply. I could not find a maker with an EB shaped the same as this one either (for any date range in London.)

    That's a really small bracelet...........:p:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

    upload_2020-11-10_1-46-46.jpeg and if we're talking about the 1602 mark above........that's a silver mark...&
    I'm unfamiliar with that 18 C t mark...

    The shape of the stamp isn’t the same as the 1602....
    Great mystery to solve :)

    I was not commenting on the cartouche shape, only on the letter. I have already posted that I do not believe the bracelet is any where near as old as the letter shape would imply.

    I have nothing more to add, I'm afraid.

    Cartouche shapes can vary, the letter is a better indicator.

    I doubt this is British. A Stuart era ring would not often have been hallmarked at all, let alone 18 CT, which is far later. This isn't early 17th in style either.

    I'd surmise that both the odd E and the EB are indicators of the maker and I think it's no older than 20th C. What country does it live in?
