Need help to identify photographer, please

    This portrait is in it's original wooden frame & carefully taking it apart (simple metal clips hold the back in place) reveals no information on the back of the photo. The whole thing including frame, measures about 21x13cm. I'm guessing 1940s? I bought it in Cheshire (UK), but it would really help to identify the photographer... the signature looks like Lamurgly to me, but I can't find anything useful on the internet. Could be Lamargly, or perhaps Lamarg W? Any ideas? Thanks!

    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    It looks like either 1930s or 1940s to me. I'm seeing Lamurgly, too. I hope somebody else can see something different!
