Need help restoring vintage chest.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the name of the chest. We had three large chests at the church I was helping restoring with that same locking system. Never knew what to call it. Could we see the sides of the drawers? Need to know what kind of dovetails it has. Thanks

    Can't really tell what it needs from this pic. Is that just missing finish .... or is there veneer missing?

    OH, looks veneered from your pics - in that case newer, fill the missing veneer in with BONDO and sand it smooth to the original veneer, and paint it - Your only cheap option!

    This is a childs rocker picture that the seat veneer was tollay gone that I repaired and had to paint. I was not going to strip all the veneer and redo it!!

    The hinges on your item look like they have been bought yesterday right out of Home Depot!!

    I have a ton of those drawer pull knobs - Chinese white metal that is so cheap!!
