Need help identifying please - brass chairs

Hi there. Brand new here but seems like a great group. My wife and I bought a matching pair of these chairs from an antique shop. He said to the best of his knowledge they were purchased from an old Hollywood mansion estate sale but he knew nothing else about them. I think they are solid brass as they weigh a fair bit and the Petina on them makes them seem old to me.

I can't see any markings anywhere.

Does anyone know anything about these chairs at all? Thanks for any help!

 

First impression is Austrian, but that's about as wild as a guess can get.

I've never seen the like.

 

According to this 2014 auction description, they are Italian. I can't vouch for or verify that info, but might give you more search ideas until someone else chimes in..

Hollywood Regency, a style that typically features too much of everything, with bells and whistles on.

 

I would have thought Italian as well. Without seeing more detail pics, I can't tell if these are old or newer. The patina looks suspiciously applied so I am thinking newer (1960s or later). A look at the underside and any screws present might help.

 

Oh how these appeal to the lover of ornate in me ! Just when I think Im done with gilt and putti ,along comes something like this that drags me right back in . Brad , that casting looks too good to be 1960s , Id say these were more 1920s , but thats just my humble opinion .
