    Hi All,
I joined Antiquers to ask for help identifying marks, which have proved evasive and to offer help, when possible.
    Item: Bronze Sculpture.
Description: Seated Gentleman. Wearing an elaborate suit and tophat.
    Age: Unknown.
Due to the design of the gentleman's suit, the maker's initials are difficult to decipher. Eb. FB. ???
Should someone recognize the mark and/or sculpture style, I would appreciate any information.
    Thank You and Have a Great Day. 100E2292.JPG 100E2292.JPG 100_2303.JPG 100_2303.JPG 100E2292.JPG 100_2303.JPG 100_2303.JPG 100_2303.JPG

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Not too helpful, but Iwanted to say that the pattern on his clothing, especially the trousers, is so unusual that I wonder whether there is some connection to a maker who made other sculptures that way?

Any information is helpful. The gentleman may be English, considering the overall look of the piece. Don't laugh... At first glance, I thought of Abraham Lincoln.

He looks like a leprechaun to me. I wonder if the pattern is supposed to be clover leaves.

I was thinking English, too. There are several members from Great Britain who are here frequently. I wonder what they think of that idea?

I thought it looked like he was wearing some of that awful, hairy, tweed - that stuff that almost looks like mohair.

The coat looks like tweed, but the trousers look like they are a pattern of leaves.

I can't see the angle of the bent knees well enough, but is it possible that this is a shelf sitter?

I wish I knew. The design, on the trousers, is different from the design on his coat. I have googled, searched my antiques and collectibles books, etc. . . , without finding a similar work of art. Thank you for an insightful suggestion.

I agree with cluttered ... with that pipe, hat, and beard, he sure does look leprechaun-ish. :)
Maybe the pattern is a nice nubby tweed ... do leprechauns wear wool?

    Where's Me Gold?
I agree, he does have certain Irish attributes, but I feel that I'm missing an obvious detail or feature that would shed a bit of light on the artisan's name. Similar to attempting to recall details of a dream, the harder one tries, they vanish like wisps of fog.

I have continued researching the little fella, but information, clues, etc. . . have proved elusive. So. . . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Aloha.

One has to wonder whether a poster is really interested in a good answer or not when they can't be troubled to supply dimensions that would help us assess the item.

    Hi,
I don't have the item with me, but it measures approximately 4 inches tall, 3 inches long and 3 inches wide and weighs over one pound.
