    Good evening
delivered today along with a few other pieces.
I really like the color. it's lightweight and heats up quickly,

think it reacts to UV light, but tell me if it is.
i'm very curieus whic material this necklage could be made of and if possible the origin and the time periode..

Hi Hi, below is the thumbnail photo full size.
Nice necklace, it could be glass, I think I see molding. Is it cold to the touch?

Has a nice amethyst-y color but triangular pieces look like glass to me.

Does not feel cold, it feels a bit sticky

Might be good to know, the triangular pieces have different thicknesses and slightly different shape

In that case it is some kind of resin/plastic. The costume jewellery people may know more.
Yes, I noticed that. Maybe home or artisanal cast resin?

Could it be some sort of amber? I rubber on a cotton piece and it is static

I'd be thinking some sort of acrylic too.

I made this pic in the night with the uv Light appr 75 cm high. Every one reacts on uv Light. some glows more , other react less .
Top are the pics on daylight taking close distance appr. 15cm above

does acrylic or plastic beads react to uv ight like these? 20220113_233609_copy_449x419.jpg

It depends on the dyes used to colour the material.:)

I don't really see the beads reacting to the UV, just reflecting it back. The cord they're strung on may be reacting a little, looking more magenta, & showing through the beads.

Fun, isn't it? Soon you'll be joining some of us others in the dark closet with our little flashlights.

Most materials just reflect back purple light. Some things change colors: there are apparently white diamonds that look blue; lab grown rubies go from deep red to hot pink. Some materials absorb the light & continue to look the same color as always. I have found this particularly with natural materials like antler & ivory.
