Not sure all this is furniture but wasn't sure where else to post it.

1-3 Sewing kit box (It says "Patented February 19 1888")
    4 Carousel Horse
    5 Antique Clock
    6. Ben Franklin Clock. (Not an antique but cool)
    7. Charles Chip Can (I remember the CC Man delivering to my Grandmas house)
    8. Coffee Grinder
    9. Butter Churn (I think)
    10. Bluebird store display (I think)

That "sewing kit box" is called a puzzle box (if I recall correctly) and held the various pieces, extra parts and maintenance materials for a sewing machine.

The "butter churn" looks awfully small to churn any reasonable amount of butter. Is it open at bottom? I was thinking butter press.

Thanks Bakersgma. I love how simple the puzzle box is yet well crafted and still very sturdy.

You are likely right in that it's a butter press not a churn. It has an image carved into the bottom of the press which makes your point.

    Hi,
I got several of those Charles Chips in my attic with Christmas ornaments. They used to deliver up until I think the 1980s. Yours is after 1963 when they started using ZIP CODES.

I went looking for some posts from @Shangas about Puzzle Boxes, but unfortunately the pictures are gone. May be he'll chime in with some now that I've tagged him.

I keep the CC Can because of the fond memories. I have an older one somewhere my Mom used to keep flour in for baking.

    Thanks Bakersgma.

Thought you would like that! :)

I came home from work one day years ago and my then four year old daughter was poking her finger through the fabric of the radio. She was just standing there enjoying herself. hahaah!

I remember when I was a little kid we had a CC delivery man, this had to be about 1965, and we had "Lorain Creamery" deliver our Milk (glass bottles) in "Milk Chutes" that were actually built into our houses. Had a door outside for the delivery boy to put things in, then a door in your house to get them out. Door was about 16" X 16" - not a full sized door!

Our townhouse in NYC had the milk chute, an ice "door" and a coal chute.........in retrospect, its a wonder we weren't burgled on a regular basis....................and almost EVERYTHING was delivered or bought from a street vendor..........I must remember to mention all of that in my forum piece on the townhouse...when and IF I get to it.....................

My mother has a coffee grinder with a top exactly like yours, not sure about the rest.

The puzzle boxes held attachments for Singer sewing machines. The clock should be marked inside. The mini carousel horse looks like a modern décor item. I think the handkerchief display box the best of the bunch.
