IMG_1430.JPG Ok, at the risk of wearing out my welcome, can I get your thoughts on this pair of gloves?

I'll bet Komokwa will know. I have to disagree, though. Canadian and Northeastern peoples used mostly floral motifs, not geometric.

Also, it really doesn't matter where you got them because of the probability of them having traveled from seller to buyer.

They look like commercial deer hide gloves someone had added a little bead work.

ya well, you won't find flared wrist guards and fringes at Ace Hardware...!

While it may be impossible to tell exactly who made these , or when they were made ..( sorry Bev...:sorry: )...IMO , they are NA & most likely Cree.
( I'd have to hold them in my hands, to say if they are early 1900's or 1960's.)
While Bev is right that the floral motif is the most well known design for this type of work gauntlet .....the diamond is not unheard of .
These 3 ....same maker....winter Cree gauntlets , walked into my Gallery one day....and were quickly placed on the wall of my Moms country home.

But you will find flared wrist guards and fringes at dozens of western/cowboy stores.

Google search "leather work gloves with fringe"
