Native American? African? Wood Bowl

Has anyone ever seen a bowl like this? I didn't know what forum to put it under so I'll try this one. I have looked for something like this for days and coming up with nothing. It is a huge wooden bowl, I guess painted black and has weave around rim. It is 14 inch across top. Any ideas? TIA

Like Komokwa said, specifically from the island of Lombok, in Indonesia.
Try an internet search for "Lombok basket" or "Lombok bowl" and you will find that they make thousands of designs, sold in import shops all over the world. One of their common styles uses a combination of wood and wicker, the wicker starting from a series of holes in the wood. This is very uncommon elsewhere in the world, so any basket using a combination of wood and wicker is likely from Lombok. Such as:
