Mystery Sword

OK, I have seen a lot of strange swords, but nothing like this. It looks to be Aferican? About 27 inches long, some type of copper wire wrapped around the wood handle. It' s about 2 1/2 lbs. Any Clues!!

 

It looks like a spearhead to me, broken off a long pole.
Agree, it could be African.

The African tribes really loved their daggers and short swords with really huge oversized blades...
some spears as well, but here there's too much handle to be a spearhead.... imo.

iron spear head with carved wooden handle.The remaining length of the spear appears to have been lost at a much earlier date, as the spear is intact to the point about a few inches before the palm stop on the wooden handle...

Funny how each variation of this blade has lost it's spear shaft....at exactly the same length .........

Well, I guess I am going to go with the "Combat Knife", it looks almost identical. If this was a spear point, you be lucky to throw it 10 feet. I do love these odd ones!
