    Hi,

This pendant appears to be quite old, judging by its patina, and may even be Native American in origin. It's an interesting object to me but, unfortunately, I have no idea what it is! It's about 2-1/2" long, is mostly hollow, and doesn't feel heavy enough to be a tooth, like a boar's tusk, or bone. Could it be some kind of claw, or talon? Hopefully somebody here recognizes what it might be, and is kind enough to let the rest of us know!

Looks like a antler/bone black powder measure.

Were there such small powder horns, only 2 1/2 inches long?

Not the horn itself ... but the measure for the black powder is that small.
Googling "black powder horn and measure" shows lots of examples (which I just did myself, as I had never heard the term before Hollyblue used it).

Ah, now I see! Yes, I think you’re completely correct - a black powder measure it is. Thank you, Hollyblue and Quirkygirl!

I will second that ID...That is definitely a black powder measure.

Thanks for your reply, Tauriels, and congrats to your 12 yo. I think I'm going to hang on to this for awhile, though, now that I know what it is!
