Does anyone recognize the motif or the intended use of this leg?

Stands 24 inches tall - on a metal wheel to the top surface
The metal wheel is one inch wide and 1.75 in diameter with about 1 inch exposed which contributes to the height.

The screw is 3.5 inches long with a diameter of 1.75 inches

    Best Wishes for the Holidays

I imagine one of the furniture people will know but do you think it could be a piano leg?

Am I the only one who thought I was going to see an old prosthetic limb when I clicked on this? :joyful:

A flea market that I frequent has an old prosthetic leg propped up in a dusty corner. I always ask my husband "Why?" when we walk by. I think it is affecting me more then I realized seeing it in there.

    Nice match
    Nearly identical
Now to wonder about the screw offering any clue to manufacturer or period.

I’ve had a look at a Kranich & Bach 1886 leg and the attachment design is a cam keeper lever that fixes the leg in place - not a threaded screw.

One of the volunteers at our local theater made a leg lamp for the play a couple of years ago. It's sitting back in the prop room and I'd ask him to make me one, but don't know where I'd put it! I know they're for sale online.
