    Hi All! I just bought this gorgeous basaltware/jasperware teapot today at a flea market. Apparently it had a lid that was recently dropped and they tossed the shards!!! How hugely disappointing. The only mark is a small I stamped on the bottom but the quality if very fine, and has that matte smooth finish of Wedgwood jasperware. If anyone has any thoughts about the origin of this piece I'd love to know.

    thanks and have a good one;

    I'd call it an engine turned basalt coffee pot and try looking for similar items that way.
