Hi, I inherited these chairs from my grandmother. The only thing anyone in the family claims to know about them is they are 110-120 years old and the fabric is not original... Any ideas? Thanks

    Early 1900s seems about right.
Wonder if these would be considered Sheraton Style chairs.
    Nice.

ooorrr Hepplewhite style with that carved pierced splat back and arching crest. See I see Sheraton style in the legs and feet and Hepplewhite in other elements. Those curving serpentine arms with acanthi leaves on the handholds have me stumped. I guess you would be safe to say Federal style. Do wait for Brad to chime in.

Kind of a mixture of styles. Sheraton and Hepplewhite are closely related and their styles would be considered as Federal on this side of the pond. The shape of the back/crest seems more Chippendale to me. I think the early 20th century dating is probably about right. The quality is better than most from this time period.

Thanks for ideas! Searching those styles a little, they're very similar. If I'm able to match them more specifically I'll let you all know :)
