Mystery bronze item, needs ID

    the slits are a clamp...that when screwed tight , holds the rod in place...

    I still think it could be a mirror stand..... bwdik ???

    Looks like an ear piece bracket for an old headset. I've seen WW2 military headsets with this configuration.

    Oh, BINGO !!! :) - what a great ID - so poss war headphone eh? :)

    Found in the woods.....so not a typical thing for someone to use in a woods, in that time period

    Well, its quite small. Looks alot bigger, as a complete image, but my little part is only 6cms or 2 inches across - quite small for a headphone earcup really.

    I’ve had a few pair of these and the earpieces were smaller than you’d think. They were bakelite

    When I see headphones like that, I expect them to be the over the ear, type.
    Or maybe, they had very very small ears, in the 40's lol

    Could it be spurs, attach to shoes / boots, used to indicate urgency to a horse?

    Mine have all been the size of an old landline phone earpiece:

    But even the over the ear ones have a fairly small attachment point:

    I have an old sundial [that is mounted on an old lamp base, yard art], it is bronze too and the arc, half-circle
    the piece looks just like this
