My jigsaw puzzle candlestick

Think I have got all 15 or so bits in the right order but it is still loose. Might have to get some CRC on the rusty thread to adjust it. Got these cute hand painted ceramic cylinders with images of faces, birds and a nude of sorts and held up by three mermaids resting on heads of gods (?). As usual no easy marks although one piece had GB impressed on it. Anyone got a date for this?

Renaissance style - my guess would be late 19th/early 20th. The celeste blue was originally a Sevres color but many copied it so this could easily be Italian and not French. Is this patinated bronze, cast iron or spelter? The mermaids are referred to as 'merman' and appear to be resting on satyr masks. Cool piece!

 

Haven't tested it yet but it was sold as bronze by auctioneers who are generally good at what they describe.

I didn't want to say it but it looked like pot metal where someone had previous done a scratch test. Your candleholder has a great look and spelter still sells. Positive note, won't cost as much to ship due to weight.
