    I took a shine to these guy's too and they will be going with my collection.

    Awww. My Mom was 5' even and my Dad was 6' so they were called Mutt & Jeff. If she was still alive, she'd love them. Nice find.

    Those 2 on eBay don't have the "Grouch Killer" impression on the pedestal backs. I wonder what that means.

    I saw a mention that the comedy of Mutt & Jeff was sometimes called a cure for the blues, referring to them as "the inimitable grouch killers"...

    reference was on Newspapers.com

    My grandmother was 4 foot 11 inches and my grandfather was 6 feet, so sometimes they were called Mutt and Jeff.

    After they divorced, she threw out every photo of him. I was only three, so I don't even remember him. My older brother saved three snapshots of him, but none of them together.

    Yeah, well he turned around and married her sister and then abandoned her so I can understand why they burned his photos!!
