Featured Mourning brooches/pins?

Purchased these a while back, going through some old stock.

What do you make of these? Possibly mourning pins, but these two (from same sale) are identical in the oval section Were there ever kits for this kind of thing?

Definitely a little bit of age, but not sure what to make of these two.

 

The cameos themselves were made in Czechoslovakia & sold as elements to various jewellery makers. She is very common. Not necessarily mourning just because black.

Yup, moulded glass from Jablonec/Gablonz.

 

Is the all black one glass? Usually when I see them the cameo is either glass or a plastic and the background is usually black bakelite:

I see her both in glass & plastic.

 

Both appear to be plastic or similar.

I saw that too just now. And the Bakelite ones have a bit of resale.

I believe that the top oval is plastic. To my eye the backing on mine doesn't look like Bakelite. I have sort of a sixth sense about Bakelite -- can spot from across the room, and the surface on this doesn't look right. Possible I haven't seen black Bakelite before, I could do a test just to be sure but think I heard that black Bakelite doesn't show a result.
