More Photo Questions Korean War

    I came across a bunch of Photos of the USS Marshall that was somehow damaged in the Korean war but I can't find any info on it anywhere. Am I just not looking in the right places.I have searched under every term I could think of an yet nothing comes up. Thanks

    Thank you for the link I read 3 pages of it still nothing So I am going to take a guess an say someone was asleep at the wheel an didn't really want to talk about it. LOL

    It says it hit another US ship that was at anchor. Went to San Diego for repairs a couple months later.

    Dated 1943 was doctored by Navy censors to erase the fire control radar on the Mk 37 Gun director. That part of the ship’s weapons system was secret at the time. This class of destroyer had five “single” 5”/38 caliber Guns and could throw a lot of steel. Later WWII USN destroyers had “twin” 5”/38 Guns for increased rate of fire.
