2 more bags from an estate sale. 1 bag has tiny metal balls at the end of the string. Any info (age, origin) on these appreciated.

The one with the metal balls is identical to the one I used in the 1950s to carry my marbles in. But it was one my grandfather had, and gave me, so I have no idea how long he had it, or what the original purpose was.

The other one appears newer, based on the leather cord (which may have been a leather boot lace.) It looks more like a crafter's work, or homemade. More like the 1970s, when a lot of "hippies" carried similar items. Does it happen to have a distinctive smell that might indicate what it held?

Or alternatively, do you get high when you smell it?
