To me,it's 'off the rails' madness.Perhaps all of Us senior pickers have created a kind of mental virus where almost anything is insanely coveted-it's downright surreal !

SIS I am deeply suspicious about the cornflower one. They are not rare at all.

I see them all the time online and at sales. They are not rare.

Some of this, most of this does not make sense.

And the pink tulip one has been relisted. I am thinking they never paid or intended to pay. And I see many of the sold listings have been relisted as well.
Looks like it has become a scammers paradise.

This is a manufactured frenzy. And all those insane prices stink of money laundering to me !

Craziness for sure. Actually looks like the top price one in the link may not have sold first time around for that price. If you click on the auction it shows relisted with a BIN of $8,500. Still! (Edit: noticed Pearls already noted this. :) )

Under the list I see a lot of every day pieces in the $3K range, but seller's with zero FB. Wonder what the heck is going on. Some kind of joke going on or something?

I do think there actually are some 'Pranksters' on Ebay.Don't know if they're 'entrepreneurs' or doing some kind of April fools skit.

pyrex cornflower for sale | eBay

yes - something is fishy - here is a complete list of the sold cornflower items and the same ones that were sold for big bucks also sold for $25....

it is weird that on the $14,900 bowl there were 23 different bidders many with significant positive feedback - at least 6 with bids higher than the current $8500. asking price - if that were the case why wouldn't it just be offered to a back-up bidder.... ??????????????????????

Corning Ware Cornflower and Spice of Life have been listed for stupid prices for the last year or so. People trying to fire the market up for things that are quite common. I have many of those pieces shown in my booths with $25.00 to $45.00 prices on them. It takes a desirable size or uncommon pattern to get much more than that.

Does anyone out there have any mint in cellophane 1985 'Twinkie' packages ? I think it's a good time to start listing original 'Goonies' props.

I remember a few years ago , Hostess said they would no longer be making Twinkies.
The prices for sold Twinkies on ebay were thru the roof. Well, another company is making them so they did not go away. I have no idea if they taste the same.

Also quite a number of years ago. Spatini sauce in the box was no longer going to be made or the new co was going to change the recipe. So everyone wanted to snap up these boxes. I was selling on ebay back then and managed to clear the shelf of what they had at the market. I didn't make hundreds of dollars but they sold fast and for decent money. I think the check out lady at the market thought I was nuts with it all in my cart.

PS I had never heard of Spatini before I read it was being discontinued on a foodie board. Live and learn.

Lawry's Spatini Spaghetti Sauce ! Lawry's Seasonings & Marie's Blue Cheese Salad Dressing in a glass jar were the height of California Cuisine in the 1960's !
Of course as a kid,I loved my CHOCOLATE- BOSCO.jpg but, being a fan of Captain Midnight,I also drank Ovaltine- Ovaltine.jpg

PS-The first Forum Pal or Gal who comes-up w/ a mint package of 1985 Twinkies wins a valuable Bosko Buck & becomes an honorary 'Bosko Buckaroo' !!!!!!!!!
